Press Release Simena Launches First Product that Emulates Network Conditions in a Laboratory Environment to Test Network Application and Equipment Performance and Eliminate Failed Network Speed, Latency and Congestion. Reston, VA, April 1, 2004-Simena, LLC announced today the release of NetworkEmulator/NE100, their first network appliance that emulates network conditions and impairments in a laboratory environment allowing clients to test their application and equipment performances to solve failed network speed problems, and eliminate latency and congestions. Patent-pending technology replicates real life scenarios by capturing and processing the data packets transparently so devices work as they are connected to an ordinary network. It can be used for any network protocol such as IP, IPX, AppleTalk, etc. and network interface. It operates at link-layer so it does not require any network configuration change on client workstations or services. "Great software on a generic but fast hardware" said Sezen Uysal, President, Simena, LLC about NetworkEmulator/NE100. "The software is efficient, easy to use, high performance and application rich. It is developed in standard programming languages so that is easy to learn, port, and support. Besides the hardware is high performance, 'Commercial Off The Shelf' and based on latest hardware standards-easy to write any software and easy to provide support. This is the most reliable, scalable, and innovative product with reasonable price to solve any challenging network problems." In addition, NetworkEmulator/NE100 operates to speed up the network testing so it finds and eliminates software bugs faster. This helps to minimize the cost and wasted time. It also provides detailed quality assurance (QA) of network applications and equipment while again helping to minimize the bandwidth cost by accurately determining bandwidth requirements. About
